Why: Airports don't have clocks?

Why is it that anywhere you really need a clock, none can be found?

Case in point - Airports. You regularly hear reports of folks not arriving at a depature gate "in time" for a flight. Yet, have you ever tried to determine the time in an Airport? I cannot find a normal clock ANYWHERE in ANY airport that I've ever visited. Sure, there are clocks, but only if you are standing in front of the departures or arrivals screens.

But who does that? Most folk are sitting down watching the world go by - and where there is never a clock in sight.
